Together with Lex Bohlmeijer (Radio 4 / De Correspondent) Nynke interviews twelve scientists, philosophers and performing artists who inspire her.
Lex and Nynke found the dreamed guest for their latest podcast: adventurer and survival guide Tamar Valkenier. For the past six years she has lived as a nomad in the Balkans, Mongolia, New Zealand and Australia, among other places. Curiosity is what drives her and not knowing is her daily routine: "Is it bad not knowing what you want, not having a goal? I do like not being convinced of anything. Being flexible in that gives freedom." Lex and Nynke meet her during the promotion of her book 'Fulltime Adventurer', for which she crosses the Netherlands on foot, in the company of camel Einstein.
About Tamar Valkenier
Adventurer and survival guide Tamar Valkenier follows her curiosity. In 2015 she gave up her career (star chef and psychologist in the criminal investigation department) and left the Netherlands on a self-built bicycle. Over the past six years, she became addicted to adventures. In her book, 'Fulltime Adventurer' she describes her nomadic life in the Balkans, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Mongolia, among other places. Nynke was immediately fascinated by Tamar's travels, and visited her when she was in the Netherlands to promote her book, in the company of camel Einstein.
